The National Coordination Committee

The Université Grenoble Alpes (UGA), has been responsible for the CLES National Coordination Committee since 10 April 2013. It has set up a new structure to ensure that the CLES certification is managed in a collegial way, in partnership with the French Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation (MESRI), the University Presidents' Conference (CPU) and the cluster coordinators.

The National CLES Coordination is managed

  1. at the political level by the Presidency of the Université Grenoble Alpes;
  2. at the scientific level by a University language professor, recruited by the UGA;
  3. at the operational level by an administrative team, also recruited by the UGA.

Excerpt from Appendix 1 to the national CLES coordination agreement

"The role of the CLES National Coordination Committee is to steer the CLES at national level:
  • by encouraging initiatives and commitment from the CLES clusters within the CLES national network;
  • by ensuring that the various institutions delivering the CLES share their skills through the design, validation and availability of CLES exam papers and by sharing experiences;
  • by consolidating the scientific foundations of the CLES."
