27 May 2007 -- A decree was passed on 27 April 2007, amending the decree of 22 May 2000 and making CLES a viable language certification, and was then published in the Journal Officiel on 28 April 2007 and in the Bulletin Officiel de l’Education Nationale on 17 May 2007. This makes the CLES certification durable and redefines the application process for centers willing to gain accreditation.
2 November 2008 -- The detailed statistics of 2007/2008 CLES sessions are available for download in the Statistical Overview section.
15 December 2008 -- New past papers (sessions 2007/2008) are available for download in the Past Papers section.
11 May 2009 -- CLES Level 2 session in English scheduled on 13 May 2009 at the University of Rennes.
